Experiment e.V. - About us
Our non-profit, inter-cultural organisation is dependent on the broad engagement of our volunteers. Throughout Germany, more than 600 people devote their spare time to supporting the cause of intercultural exchange by choosing programme and preparing participants, supervising host families and their guests, accompany groups and presenting our programme at fairs and information events. The volunteers are regularly trained to ensure the quality of the programmes and services. Whether you are young or old, whether you can spare lots of time or just a little, you will always find something to do!
850 Experiment e.V. members are committed to intercultural exchange and intercultural understanding, and are devoted to uniting people of different religions, cultures and languages. Every Experiment e.V. member makes a valuable contribution by representing our concerns more compellingly in public. Moreover, all members can take part in the democratic processes that will shape the future of the organisation.
Please contact us for further information regarding voluntary work or Experiment e.V. membership. We appreciate your interest and are happy to receive your inquiries!

Living together. Learning together.
Experiment
e.V., which is based in Bonn, is a non-profit organisation that is
committed to encouraging exchanges between peoples of all cultures,
religions and age groups.
The German branch of the oldest exchange organisation: The Experiment in International Living
with organisations in 22 countries. It brokers intercultural
exchanges according to the motto “Living together. Learning together”.
Each year, around 2000 "experimenters" between the age of 14 and 90 are
"exchanged". Approximately 800 of these people choose the Federal
Republic of Germany as their host country.
Our programmes have to meet stringent international quality criteria. These criteria also apply to our partner organisations, which are carefully chosen to act as competent and
reliable local liaison partners for us and our participants, around the
clock.
As a non-profit organisation, Experiment e.V. is not allowed to make a profit. We
work in an extremely cost-conscious manner, enjoying the support of
over 600 volunteers – who work out of conviction – from all over
Germany. Surpluses are predominantly used for our scholarship
programmes, which facilitate exchanges regardless of individual
financial strength.
Experiment e.V. promotes mutual
understanding, respect and tolerance. The participants and host families
not only gain personal enrichment from their experiences, but also
receive intensive preparation with regard to sensitive global
coexistence.
