Our families BRING THE WORLD INTO THEIR HOMES and open their hearts and homes to foreign visitors so that they become a legitimate member of the family for the duration of the programme. Sharing daily life, cooking together, laughing and conversing, these are the things that help both sides understand the world from the perspective of a foreign culture.
Anyone who is prepared to welcome a foreign participant with warmth, openness and a willingness to communicate – and is willing to integrate the guest into the family – can become a host family. It makes no difference where you live, what your job is or how many children you have, if any.
Attending school in Germany:
The pupils are between 15 and 18-years-old and come to Germany from all four corners of the world. They stay for a period of between two months and one complete school year and visit a German school during this time. The guests can be funded by the German Government, the American Congress and the Experiment scholarships, among others.
Host families and group programmes:
The participants, for example, foreign students, African German teachers, American college students and many others who are interested in getting to know Germany via the "Homestay" programme, are usually aged between 18 and 35-years-old and come from all over the world. They stay with the host family for one to four weeks
